Please Note: Section 1 Number 6:
As the five-month gap with no Clerk in post meant that the Council could not give an unqualified assurance on one audit question, the latest meeting resolved, for 2025-26 onwards, to create an internal audit regime for each quarter and review actual spending v. budget at least at the half year point.
Please Note: General Comments to auditor:
There are several significant changes between the years under review and here is a summary of the reasons:
- Receipts were boosted by a grant of almost £10000 to create a Neighbourhood Plan and by £2500 more CIL money than the previous year.
- Staff costs were higher because significant amounts of salary and backpay were due to the previous clerk and accountancy advice had to be sought to ensure correct returns were made to HMRC in particular.
- Other payments were higher because new village signs were bought and because of the spend on the Neighbourhood Plan and the return of the unused part of the grant.
